December 9 2004: chartConstructor 2.0.1

chartConstructor 2.0.1 is an important maintenance release that fixes a bug in v2.0 which can prevent the saving of files. It is recommended that all update to the new version as soon as possible to avoid being effected by the bug.

September 13 2004: chartConstructor 2.0

chartConstructor 2.0 has been released. 2.0 is a free upgrade for all registered users of previous versions. There has been a modest price rise for new users, a single user license for 2.0 being US$45.

August 30 2004: chartConstructor 2.0 beta

chartConstructor 2.0 beta is now available for download. The final version of chartConstructor 2.0 will be a free upgrade for all registered users. Changes in this release include:

  • Multiple resources per task
  • Customizable calendars
  • Option to favor duration or dates
  • Ability to change the % of resource allocation
  • Zoom for PERT view
  • Importing charts
  • Option to display subtasks in PERT view
  • Ability to change color and shape of PERT object

May 22 2004: Headshack moves into multimedia

Headshack has started to move into the exciting (to me anyway) world of multimedia development. We are specialising in web development but also offering our services for any kind of multimedia development you may need.

Users of chartConstructor, there's no need to worry. We are still devoting time to the development of chartConstructor and hope to have a new release out in the not too distant future.

January 17 2004: chartConstructor 1.5 Final

1.5 adds the finalized French localization and fixes some minor issue reported by users.

Like all 1.X updates chartConstructor 1.5 is free for registered users.

December 17 2003: chartConstructor 1.5Beta

Sorry about the delay everybody, chartConstructor 1.5Beta has finally been released. Changes in the version:

August 18 2003: chartConstructor 1.3.1

1.3.1 is a maintenance release of chartConstructor, changes:

  • Fixed bug that could crash the application when changing preferences.
  • Fixes alignment problem that occurred when printing some Gantt Charts.
  • Changed the default task start date to the chart start date.
  • Minor changes to the way new tasks are automatically added.

May 8 2003: chartConstructor 1.3

1.3 final fixes several bugs found in the beta version, most notably with printing Gantt Charts.

March 31 2003: chartConstructor 1.3b

After a long wait chartConstructor1.3b has been released. New features/improvements in this version:

  • Option to print chart X number of pages wide by X number of pages high
  • Task filter
  • Option to have chartConstructor automatically optimize tasks
  • Lag
  • Promotion and demotion of tasks in Gantt Charts handled through command+arrow keys

December 14 2002: chartConstructor 1.2.1

1.2.1 is a maintenance update which addresses problems some users were experiencing with printing and exporting Gantt Charts.

December 12 2002: chartConstructor 1.2 released

1.2 final corrects a few minor bugs present in the public beta

December 1 2002: chartConstructor 1.2beta is out

Improvements:

  • Task durations can now be entered in hours/minutes as well as days
  • Added Start to Start, Start to Finish and Finish to Finish dependencies

October 9 2002: chartConstructor 1.1 has been released.

This version fixes several small bugs present in 1.1beta. It also sees the return of German Localization, a major update to the help files and optimization.

September 24 2002: chartConstructor 1.1b adds a host of new features.

  • Added the ability to switch between Gantt and PERT views for the same document
  • Added the ability to assign subtasks when in Gantt View
  • Integration with Address Book
  • When scrolling Gantt Views, the dates are now always visible
  • Added the ability to set Gantt Bar colors individually
  • Fixed problems with printing/exporting
  • Added an option to show guides in Gantt View
  • A host of smaller improvements
  • German localization temporarily removed

July 23 2002: chartConstructor 1.0.4 is out and includes German localization. This update also addresses problems users have been experiencing with the french localization and with some more unusual date formats.

July 10 2002: chartConstructor 1.0.3 is now available for download. Changes in this version:

  • Added Toolbar
  • Added an inspector panel
  • Added milestones to Gantt charts
  • Added the ability to store notes on each task
  • Added options to:
    • Display "Today" on Gantt Charts
    • Display "Responsible" on PERT charts
    • Set different colors to represent less than 50%, more than 50%, and 100% completed tasks
    • Set the color for milestones
  • Added help system

June 16 2002: chartConstructor 1.0.2 has been released. This release adds the ability to view Gantt Charts in year, month and week views. Other improvements include table columns remembering your preferred size/order and optimization of drawing.

May 20 2002: chartConstructor 1.0.1. changes in this release include:

  • French Localization
  • Ability to rearrange tasks in Gantt charts added
  • Dependent entries in PERT charts now update their dates the same as entries in Gantt charts
  • All the information that could be recorded for entries in Gantt charts can be recorded for PERT entries
  • PERT entries can now display a longer task string
  • Connecting points for arrows in PERT charts are now spread out
  • Cursor now changes to an arrow while making connection
  • Pressing the delete key with a chart entry selected will now delete it
  • Fixed a display glitch that caused connections to be drawn on the window under certain situations
  • Improvements to the manual

May 8 2002: chartConstructor 1.0 is ready to go. This release sees the ability to export charts as image files, improved printing support and several small bug fixes. ChartConstructor is now shareware and costs a very reasonable US$30.

April 21 2002: chartConstructor 1.0b3 is the latest beta release. B3 adds basic printing support and vertical scrollers. Several bugs and display glitches have also been fixed.

April 16 2002: chartConstructor 1.0b2 has been released. This version sees a few minor bugs taken care of and major changes under the hood. Options to leave weekends out of the duration count and to display weekends on the time line have been added. There are also changes to the way users interacts with Gantt charts.

April 7 2002: chartConstructor 1.0b1 is out. chartConstructor is a new program to help Mac OS X users with project management.

April 2 2002: someOrganizer 1.0 has finally been released. Several bugs and memory leaks have been eliminated.

February 10 2002: I've started working on a new project called chartConstructor. It will produce gantt, PERT and possibly CPM charts. More soon.
